HEYYYYY HOW YOU DOIN?
You excited for the festive season?
Hope you’ve got a hyggelig time ahead! (Did you look up what hygge means??!) (Even if you don’t celebrate Christmas I do hope you’re feeling in the spirit?!)
I’ve STILL got some shopping to doooo but hey. Hopefully enough time to sort some fun and see some pals.
Today’s advice is from the wonderful David Devereaux of Tin Can, Middle Below and The Tower. V exciting to meet him and some Tin Can Crew at the recent London Podfest fun in Kings Place. Was lucky enough to have a iccle part in The Tower which is a series many folks I think...moot should continue! You can find links to David’s awesome work here - and do look out for his episode of the BBC Murmurs show, written by, produced and with casts of various smatterings of folks from the indie scene.
Obviously these vocal warm up sessions are meant to be done out loud wherever is safe to do so - but if you can't, at least mouthing and annunciating the exercises will help prepare you for recording too!
Hope your recording for the 12 days of Christmas is coming along well - And...don't forget to please ping me a warm up session - your favourite exercises or tongue twisters etc - they can be from ones you've heard from me orrrr your own! Written or recorded - 3-5 min at most - ping to email@example.com by 21 Dec.
And please doooo remember to enter the DASHINGLY QUIRKY SCRIPT WRITING COMP - DETAILS HERE ON THE WEBSITE. Winners are performed at the Poduk event in Birmingham. Deadline for entries - Dec 26th....
Feel free dooooo to email me with any thoughts, suggestions or fun stand alone warm ups of your own on firstname.lastname@example.org!
Thanks so much for your listening support - please do pass this on to other VA's, casts and actors, students and theatre groups who might find it useful...
Also if you have the time and inclination to support my work via any means below, dooo AND feel free to contact me about anything in this podcast, or ideas for future eps on email@example.com.
